About The Race:
This is the third year ERR has sponsored the Labor Day 5K Rogue Race. The last two year's races attracted over 200 participants and was well received by the community.
1 MILE CROSS WALK FOR ANDREW CROSS Many of you may be aware that one of the HS Cross Country Athletes (a Sophomore) has been diagnosed with Leukemia. This year, we will hold a 1 Mile Cross Walk for Andrew Cross. Proceeds from the 1 Mile event will go to help defray his medical expenses. Andrew's illness has had a profound impact on the local running community, and we will have additional announcements coming concerning additional ways we hope to support Andrew and his family.
A portion of the proceeds from last year's race were used by The Eldersburg Rogue Runners (ERR) to charter a bus for area Cross Country athletes so that they could attend the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in New York . The balance of the proceeds help ERR fulfill its mission. ERR is an affiliate of the Freedom Area Recreation Council (FARC) which is chartered by the Carroll County Department of Parks and Recreation. ERR is a non-profit corporation with the mission of supporting runners in South Carroll County .

ERR hopes to duplicate or exceed the number of door prizes offered at last year's race and provide similar after race food, beverage and festivities.
The Rogue Race Course:
The course this year will be substantially the same as the last two year's. The first quarter mile of the course (which starts on Bartholow Road ) is relatively flat. It enters a neighborhood and the terrain rolls gently for about a half-mile. At the 1 mile mark, there will be an aid station as the runners begin a gentle decent and loop. This loop doubles back on the course for approximately 300 meters, as the runners return to the aid station at the same aid station which is also very close to the 2 mile mark. The runners cross Johnsville Road on a relatively flat stretch of the race before beginning a 400 meter climb back towards Bartholow Road .
The course is not demanding, but will offer a challenge. Feedback from last year's participant was positive and for this reason, the course will remain the same. While traffic for the race is not stopped - it is controlled creating a safe route.

Race Sponsors:
We are grateful for the support of sponsors the last couple years. The following companies have sponsored the race by donating cash, equipment, prizes or volunteers. We hope you will support them as they have supported ERR. We hope they will support us again in 2006. Because of their support, we were able to offer over 45 door prizes to area restaurants and various entertainment venues.
