Links to Established Local Races
Last Revised: 10/3/2006
ERR is happy to publicize/support races sponsored by other organizations. We will update our race calendar as often as needed on the home page. For runners new to the area, below are some races you may want to consider participating in, as they are well-established and widely respected.
Shamrock 5K (Mid March – on or Around St. Patrick's Day)
Want to set a PR in the 5K. This is your race. Downhill most of the way and a party at the finish line. We have run in this race as a group and enjoyed it a great deal. Typically, Baltimore 's St. Patrick's Day parade follows the race. The event has been sponsored by Charm City Run for several years, and they always seem to organize a great race for the participants.
Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run (First Weekend in April)
One of the nation's premiere 10 mile races and a rite of spring for area runners. Held every year since 1973, the race has a great reputation and is an event that gets national attention.

Frederick Marathon (Late April)
This is a well organized event and ERR members have participated in this event both as individuals and on relay teams. Space is limited. This race is large enough to allow you to find a decent pace group, but small enough to fell intimate. If you are interested in joining one of our relay teams, please contact us at: ERRGroupRoadRace@errun.org.

Labor Day 5K Rogue Race (First Monday in September)
Okay, it is a little self-serving to put our little 5K in this list, but it is well-deserved. We regularly attract about 300 runners. The course is well marked and we get excellent feedback on it (not too easy, not too difficult) and we hand out a ton of door prizes… odds are, you will get more than just a T-shirt if you stick around after the race. The race has been held on Labor Day for 4 consecutive years.

Army 10 Miler (Early October)
Great event held in DC. Some runners will use this as a tune up for the Baltimore Marathon. It is often the week before – so make sure it fits into your training cycle. The race typically starts and finishes at the Pentagon, taking in the sites around the National Mall and Capitol. It is a relatively flat course.

Baltimore Running Festival (Middle of October)
Well organized event with terrific sponsors. The Marathon course is not flat, so if you are looking for an easy course – this may not be it. At the same time – it is one of the better marathons in the area. ERR typically has a few members entered in the Marathon and Half Marathon.
