RUNNING ROUTES IN ELDERSBURG:

Below is a section totally devotes to the County Parks in our area and the trails in those parks.

Parks and Trails in Our Area :

Piney Run Park:

Parking: Available at the Park off White Rock Road and Martz Roads, near Eldersburg, MD.

Open: Trails are open seven days a week, sunrise until sundset. There is a vehicle fee from April 1 through October 31.

Length: Approximately five miles of trails for hiking and cross country skiing, and one trail of three and a half miles that includes biking.

Piney Run (Undeveloped Area):

Parking: Vehicle and horse trailer parking availble at the end of the section of Martz Road that exits directly off MD 26.

Open: Trails are open seven days a week, sunrise until sundset. There is no fee for use of this undeveloped area.

Length: There are approximately four miles of multiuse trails.

Morgan Run Environmental Center:

Parking: Available at Ben Rose Lane from Bartholow Road off MD 97, north of MD 26..

Open: Trails are open seven days a week, 7:00 am until sundset. There are several miles of multiuse trails

Freedom Park:

Parking: Available at Freedom Park, off of Raincliffe Road, Sykesville, MD.

Open: Trails are open seven days a week, sunrise until sundset.

Length: There are approximately 2.0 miles of macadam trail.

Soldier's Delight:

Parking: Available off of Deer Park Road. 5100 Deer Park Road, Owings Mill Md. You can park at the Nature Center or in Parking lots right on Deer Park Road (preferred...more access to trails)

Open: Trails are open seven days a week, sunrise until sundset.

Length: There are several loop trails that cross back and forth between each other where one can get anywhere from 2 to 10 miles of running or walking in.
